Grace Daak, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker, had 11 kills and nine blocks as Minnesota Duluth cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-4, 25-14) NSIC victory over winless Minot State Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Romano Gym.

Cianna Selbitschka added 11 kills, seven digs and three blocks, Madison Gordon had 28 set assists and Sydney Lanoue chipped in 12 digs and four ace serves for the Bulldogs (11-7, 4-6), who had a .500 to .072 hitting advantage over the Beavers (0-16, 0-10).

UMD hosts Mary at 4 p.m. Saturday in NSIC action at Romano Gym.


UMD wins again

Jacqueline Jares and Anna Tobias scored goals and Lauren Singstock had two assists as Minnesota Duluth won its second straight, this time 2-1 over Concordia-St. Paul in NSIC women’s soccer action before 132 at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul.

After Tobias scored at 28:56, Sophie Pawlyshyn scored at 51:11 for Concordia to cut the lead to 2-1 but that’s how it stayed as Sophia Grenz had 11 saves for the Bulldogs (2-9-1 overall, 2-6-1 UMAC).

Jessi Jordan had a save for the Golden Bears (6-5-1, 5-3-1).

UMD continues NSIC play at 1 p.m. Sunday at Minnesota State-Mankato.
