John Shuster stormed into the finals of the USA Curling National Championship on Friday with an 8-2 victory over Rich Ruohonen at Spokane, Wash.

Shuster and his Duluth Curling Club teammates of Chris Plys, John Landsteiner and Matt Hamilton broke out to a 4-2 lead after six ends before scoring four points in the seventh end to close the match three ends early.

Shuster will face either Ruohonen or Chase Sinnett, who met later Friday, in Saturday’s 7 p.m. men’s final.
