Trailing 12-8 entering the bottom of the seventh inning tonight at Wade Field, Duluth Denfeld erupted for five runs, with Samantha Snyder's game-ending three-run homer sending the Hunters to a 13-12 high school softball win.

Snyder's big blast came with two outs.

Gianna Torres also homered for Denfeld during a three-hit, four-RBI performance, while Lindsay Johnson added three base hits.

The Lumberjacks' Katie Alto collected four hits, and Evette Morgan finished with three, including a homer, to go with four RBIs.

Esko 9, South Ridge 6

The Eskomos received three hits from Dea DeLeon, plus a combined four hits and five RBIs from Sydney Hanson and Kaitlyn Bergerson to win the Polar League game in Culver.


Hermantown 11, Duluth Denfeld 1

Rico Rodriguez had two hits and drove in three runs, which proved to be more than enough for starting pitcher Eli Hedin, who allowed three hits and struck out five over five innings of work to carry the Hawks to a six-inning Lake Superior Conference win in Cloquet.
