College softball: CSS favored to win UMAC again
No change is expected atop the UMAC standings this spring as St. Scholastica was picked to win a 10th consecutive regular-season crown.
The Saints were selected by league coaches in polling released Wednesday, earning six first-place votes and 61 total points. Crown, Northwestern and Wisconsin-Superior were second, third and fourth, respectively.
St. Scholastica, which also won the league's postseason title a year ago before losing twice in the NCAA Division III playoffs, graduated two-time UMAC player of the year in pitcher Chrisi Mizera but returns infielder Alexa Bremer, Maggie Schley and pitcher Vanessa Kohl.
UWS returns all-conference selections in seniors Ciarra Stavang, Saige Patrick and Katie White.
