Prep report: Esko boys, girls win tourney titles

Adam Trapp, a 7-foot-3 senior center, scored 27 points and seventh-ranked Esko overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Hinckley-Finlayson 71-66 in the final of the Esko Coaches Classic high school boys basketball tournament Saturday night.

The Eskomos trailed 36-29 at halftime before rallying to claim the tournament title.


Esko 41, Proctor 32

The Eskomos' defense clamped down on the Rails in the second half, holding Proctor to six points in the Esko Coaches Classic championship game.

Macy Sunnarborg and Kristy Demuth each scored a dozen points to lead Esko, which held Proctor to 24.6 percent shooting from the field.


Duluth East 2, Blaine 2

Garrett Worth scored two second-period goals as the fourth-ranked Greyhounds remained undefeated with a tie at Heritage Center.

Blaine goaltender Joe Daniger made 64 saves.
