Two unique running events are on tap the next few weeks in Duluth.

First, runners can participate in the Chester Park trail 5K, 10K or six-hour race on Sunday. All three distances start at 10 a.m. and will cover parts of the COGGS bike path, Superior Hiking Trail and other trails throughout Chester Park. The winners of the six-hour race will be determined by who completes the most 5-kilometer loops. Registration is still open; go to chesterparktrailrace.com.

Then, on July 13 the Runway 4K returns to the Sky Harbor Airport. The official race starter, flying in an acrobatic plane from the Duluth Airshow, will “buzz” the runway and, after it’s over, one lucky finisher will get a ride in the plane. Cost is $35 and registration is available at register.chronotrack.com/r/48830.
