A Fargo Shanley graduate, the 18-year-old Anderson closed his prep career this winter with seven North Dakota state championships in the 50 freestyle (3) and 100 freestyle (4). He earned a spot in the Olympic Trials with a second-place finish in a qualifying time of 23.03 seconds at USA Swimming's TYR 18 & Under Spring Cup in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 29-May 2.

Class B girls golf saw the end of an era on Wednesday. Kindred's Avery Bartels took home the individual state title, ending the streak of four straight championships for South Border's Emily St. Aubin. Bartels turned in a two-under for the two rounds to take home the medal.
