Fall tourism plays a large role in many small communities along Lake Superior's North Shore. Tourism experts from St. Louis, Lake and Cook counties highlight how visitors can capture the season with unique ways to experience maple and birch trees this autumn.
While festival season might be winding down in some places as August arrives, there's still more to come for outdoor festivities along the North Shore and up in Ely.
According to a report from the University of Minnesota, 2020 Northland birth and pregnancy rates stayed largely similar to 2019, but are low compared to years past. In most Northland counties, fewer teenage pregnancies and births were recorded in 2020 than in 2019.
Compared to 2019 and 2020 data, cases of chlamydia remained similar to past Northland data, while gonorrhea cases have continued to increase in the region.
No injuries were reported from the Sunday morning fire.
During a press conference Wednesday, Chris Swanson denied wrongdoing: "Yup, I'm a visionary leader who loves this community of Two Harbors."
