Authorities will attempt to prove that Michael Carbo Jr. raped and killed Nancy Daugherty after she caught him peeping outside her house, but a judge must decide whether to allow other evidence of his alleged "voyeuristic proclivity of sexual motivations."
Her disappearance remains unsolved, without much evidence. It prompted Northland agencies to create one of Minnesota's two child abduction response teams.
With the case involving complicated and novel DNA issues, it may take a jury up to four weeks to hear the case of Michael Carbo in the rape and beating death of Nancy Daugherty.
