I was appalled watching the Nov. 18 School Board meeting at what Mary Cameron had to say to fellow board member Gary Glass. Her tirade was uncalled for. She said he was requesting too much information and should have done so during a committee meeting. Chairwoman Nancy Nilsen added her comments after Cameron was done.

Glass was following instructions from his constituents in asking for clarifications of some of the foggy issues concerning the apparent comingling of funds to help the red plan proceed. I believe Cameron did allude to the fact that not all information had been provided in a timely manner for earlier requests.

I was under the impression that these folks were public servants, serving at the request of the voters. What a gross violation of courtesy and what an example for students.

Being good public servants means reading the public sentiment and then taking the action that meets those criteria. It also means acting in a civil manner at public meetings.
