Reader's view: Wolf hunt will end up hurting Wisconsin

I agreed wholeheartedly with the Nov. 3 letter, "Wis. wolf hunt is about thrill-killing and money." Money and trophies is the name of the game.

When that precious animal is no longer, we will have to do here what Yellowstone National Park had to do: reintroduce the wolf back into the wild because the all-important wolf hunt will be greatly affected by no wolves. The deer population will be enlarged to the point deer will be starving. There won't be enough food for them. Also, diseases will take a great toll on the herd. The result will be little or no deer hunting for fear of diseased meat because the population is too small.

As for dogs being allowed in hunting: I figure hunters who do that are not hunters. Or they lack the courage to stand their ground with a formidable adversary. So in the long run, Mother Nature will win again.

The cost of reintroducing the wolf will be a big expense for the state, which means your tax dollars will be spent on wolf reintroduction, not other projects. Just ask Yellowstone National Park about its costs.
