Enough is enough! This letter is not directed at those who voted for or against the past presidential candidates, at the reasons for doing so, or, for that matter, at the merits of the current legislative proposals under debate. It is directed at the relative silence of the American people (and their elected officials from both parties) following the baseless babblings (ok, tweets) from President Donald Trump.

Why would he continue such utterances unless he is becoming convinced they are being accepted at face value as absolute truth? Really? Are we headed down the path of the rise of the totalitarian governments of the 1930s where one propagandist prophesied that if you tell the same lie enough times, people will believe it - and the bigger the lie, the better.

Better yet, why not proclaim oneself ordained by God to deliver such with any issue taken blasphemy? Who could dispute that other than God Himself? A new religion: Trumpianity.

The only good news is there might now be a market for a couple of closed churches in the area. I hate to say this to my past and present social studies colleagues, but I fear we are failing in our mission.
