This presidential campaign is not typical in any way. That one candidate for president would seem to excuse sexual-predatory behavior as “boys will be boys” is inexcusable.
What I’m hearing is a continuation of what I was told when I was bullied on the playground, what I was told when I complained about my “date” in college, and what I was told by police when my landlord illegally entered my apartment: I was told it was “he said-she said” so there was nothing that could be done. Each time, predatory behavior was excused, and I suffered for trying to get the behavior to stop.
Now I watch as people are incited to behave badly toward others because of their race, religion, and/or gender. I ask you to see yourself on the receiving end of any/all of the forms of this candidate’s demeaning behavior before casting your vote. No one is immune from a bully. No one is safe when a narcissist is enraged.
I will do what I can to keep this man out of the White House, and I ask everyone to do the same.
