I come from a long line of Iron Range miners. My family immigrated here from Yugoslavia to mine and make a living. No one became "Dopey" from drinking water near mining, as an editorial cartoon on April 16 suggested can happen.
We on the Iron Range have the cleanest water in the state. Without mines, people would not have many everyday luxuries we take for granted.
I hope in the future the News Tribune thinks twice before publishing an offensive cartoon.
