Reader's view: Unborn babies need advocates

In the past several months there have been many letters belittling those who speak out against President Obama and his pro-choice stance. I applaud those people who have the courage to stand up for the unborn.

In the past several months there have been many letters belittling those who speak out against President Obama and his pro-choice stance. I applaud those people who have the courage to stand up for the unborn.

Since Obama has taken office he reversed the partial-birth abortion ban. He lifted this ban and now funds embryonic stem cell research. He proposed the Freedom of Choice Act. His new health-care bill could create the greatest expansion of abortions since Roe v. Wade. The list goes on.

The unborn need their advocates. They do not have a voice to protect their civil rights. They need morally strong individuals to protect them from the far left.

Every year in America more than 1 million babies are aborted. Since Roe v. Wade, a whole generation has been killed. Abortions destroy human lives in the most painful and inhumane ways.

More than 90 percent of abortions performed are for birth control. As a society, we need to take responsibility for our actions. We need to dust the victim chip from our shoulder and own our choices. As the Dalai Lama said, "Live each day to the fullest. Live it so there [are] no regrets and no reason to repent."
