I just finished the Feb. 26 article about activist Angela Davis speaking at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The article noted that some students were very inspired by her ("Activist Davis speaks at UMD").
I am appalled UMD would welcome someone who was an unapologetic member of the Communist Party and of the Black Panthers. Maybe those inspired students should speak to some of the people who are living with communism in North Korea and hear how it really is. They are living with daily violations of their human rights and torture. The Black Panthers was a radical, violent organization that encouraged the murders of police officers and other crimes. If this is inspirational, I am in great fear of our future.
To offer a platform for this speaker and welcome this type of garbage to UMD was shameful.
