Once again, our president has given us a very definitive display of who he is, ethically and morally. Recently, two of his associates were found guilty of committing multiple felonies each. When the press asked President Donald Trump about it, rather than praise or even acknowledge law enforcement and the judicial system for bringing these felons to justice, he said he was sad, that his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was a good man and this should never have happened. He then went on to chastise law enforcement for going back through all 12 years of criminal behavior when bringing charges.

Evidently, our president thinks that if you've been able to get away with criminal behavior for X number of years without getting caught, you should be allowed to continue with impunity.

Shortly after taking shots at law enforcement for actually dealing with those crimes, Trump had law enforcement in his sights again when two Republican congressmen were charged with crimes. His reasoning this time was that they shouldn't have been charged because they were going to be instrumental in keeping the House of Representatives in GOP hands.

Ever since the president began his campaign, he has gone around the country talking about how we are a nation of laws. It seems now as though what he really meant was that we're a nation of laws for black, brown, and poor people but if you happen to be a rich, old, white guy, you shouldn't have to worry about the laws - or about breaking them.

It sincerely baffles me how anyone with a law-enforcement background could not only willingly but eagerly align themselves so closely with someone who seems to have absolutely no respect for our laws or the people charged with enforcing them.
