It must be time for elections now that U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar can be seen occasionally around the 8th District. I wonder what he wants from us this time. Could it be our vote in November? Perhaps he could stay long enough to tell us how much cap-and-trade will cost each and every homeowner. Maybe he could explain why our employers are rethinking health-care plans that will be forever changed by Obamacare. By the way, what will that cost us? Oberstar doesn't need money for his campaign; the special interests he takes care of will take care of him.

We need a congressman who will see to the country's needs -- like the debt that continues to grow and grow until it will consume us all. Maybe it is time to look at someone new. I hear there is a young retired naval officer who just might fill the bill.
