Journalist Helen Thomas should be respected for her views on Israel and U.S. foreign policy. Our country should not be supporting Israeli settlement expansion. Our government openly is against the settlement expansion but yet provides Israel with the military assistance and funding that allows this to continue. We should be telling Israel to stop seizing Palestinian homes, pastures and orchards and not meekly asking them please.
Thomas was right to claim our government is being cowered by the misguided friends of Israel who want to fight for a larger Israel and who simply ignore that the Palestinian people need an established homeland, also.
We will be a target of terrorism as long as we fail to control Israeli expansion.
