Regarding the primary election victories by Tea Party candidates this fall: As a former DFL state senator from Minnesota (1971-76) and as one who now supports and votes for the best moderate candidates, regardless of political party (I'm financially backing
Republican/Independent Florida Gov. Charlie Crist for the U.S. Senate), I have half a mind -- which is all it would take -- to support with my donations any and all Tea Party-backed GOP candidates, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.
Then, if they win, I can sit back and watch as folks who worked for those ultraright-wing candidates scream and howl in pain as their new lawmakers keep their pledges to demolish Social Security, get rid of Medicare and kill the recently enacted medical insurance reforms.
Only then will we realize what a fraud the Tea Party has perpetrated on Americans.
