I appreciated Eric Enberg’s June 24 Local View column about the ways climate change will affect local sportsmen, both fishermen and hunters, as Minnesota becomes more like today’s Kansas (Local View: “Sportspersons should worry about climate change”).
There are many ways in which climate change is going to hurt, but it’s very hard to listen to climate warnings and absorb the information because, as individuals, we each feel so powerless to do anything about it.
When people join organizations that have a reasonable plan for dealing with climate change, members feel hope and are better able to face the facts. Just consider the National Ski Areas Association, which recently endorsed the Citizens’ Climate Lobby and its support for bipartisan carbon-pricing legislation.
You’re not alone. Please contact your local chapter for more information.
