I appreciated the unbiased reporting in the March 4 story, “ Duluth to appeal officer reinstatement .” Such reporting is somewhat refreshing nowadays.
Being from New Orleans and having settled down here, part time at Island Lake, I can only hope the powers that be in the city of Duluth understand that if you do not support your local police, you are creating a mini-Chicago environment. In this case, your city attorney is well on his way to empowering every not-so-nice derelict to challenge law and order in a civilized society. I know this firsthand, having served in law enforcement for a number of years.
My recommendation is to drop it and move on to fixing things in this city like the streets and roads and let our boys and women in blue do what they were trained to do.
