Denfeld’s 1947 boys basketball team is the only Denfeld basketball team to win a state title. The team’s head coach was Lloyd Holm. Team members were Rudy Monson, Larry Tessier, Paul Nace, Kenneth Sunnarborg, Eugene Norlander, Howard Tucker, Tony Skull, Jerry Walczak, Bruce Budge, Keith Stolen and student manager Bob Scott.

While the picture referenced looked pretty bad; it actually was not at all. The intense looks seen on high school athletes' faces almost always look bad; but they're not. They are just that, intense. My guess is the letter writer was not at the game. After the play in the photo, there was no penalty. But more to the point, there also was no complaining from the Hermantown player(s), coaching staff, or parents in the crowd. What does that tell you?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but in this day of so much "fake news" being thrown around, one would hope to formulate an informed opinion before offering it up to the media.
