I was disappointed by the Sept. 18 News Tribune. I felt it was discourteous and in poor taste to broadcast Alex Balluff's recent suicide attempt on the front page, above the fold ("I just wanted to end my life').
I expect stories like this to be part of daily news coverage, but I don't expect media outlets to air them in a way that lacks the decency people commonly show one another in times of personal struggle. Out of respect for Balluff's age and recent life experiences, I felt the News Tribune should have acted with more decorum.
