St. Louis County Commissioner Tom Rukavina deserves thanks for following up with 8th Congressional District Republican candidate Pete Stauber's 15 emails with the National Republican Congressional Committee. Stauber is also a St. Louis County commissioner and these emails involved his county email address ("Fellow commissioner urges Stauber to release emails," Sept. 12).
The emails are subject to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, according to county officials. But there is no "private party" on either end of them, so that's a ridiculous position.
These emails need to be made public. What is there to hide? That's the intriguing part. Rukavina was correct. If this was a DFLer communicating with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Republicans would be going off the deep end.
Regardless, this is one more good reason to vote for Democrat 8th Congressional District candidate Joe Radinovich.
