Reader's view: St. Mary's nurses also do a great job for patients

I was delighted to read the June 4 letter, "St. Luke's nurses create a heavenly experience," for I believe the nursing profession does not get the deserved credit for the health care it dispenses.

I was delighted to read the June 4 letter, "St. Luke's nurses create a heavenly experience," for I believe the nursing profession does not get the deserved credit for the health care it dispenses.

Like the letter writer, I was the recipient of excellent nursing and medical care at St. Mary's Medical Center, where two registered nurses, Jeremy Dick and Barbara Dryck, made my five-day stay in Duluth a warm and comfortable experience. Along with Dr. Lisa Abrahams and Dr. Julia Montgomery, I found myself in excellent cardiology hands as a pace-defibrillator was inserted to keep my heart in normal function.

The medical care started in Hibbing where my situation was diagnized and the quick, very safe ambulance ride to Duluth with emergency medical technicians Erick and Ryan, who reflected their skill in the transportation of patients.

Duluth should be very proud and grateful to have outstanding medical facilities in St. Mary's and St. Luke's and the personnel who staff them. I know because my lifespan has been extended, thanks to the nursing profession and the medical staff at St. Mary's.
