We planned to be first in line this time. Saturday is re-use day at the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District dump on Rice Lake Road. It opens at 8 a.m. We were there at 5:50 a.m. and were sixth in line. Someone was there at 3 a.m.
Most early birds look for lawnmowers and such. But I am a crafter so I hunt for things to paint on, decorate, or repurpose.
When we drove up I saw him among the mowers. He was beautiful, almost new. It was my prize find for the year: a large bounce horse. I set him next to the truck and went in search of other treasures. I came back a few minutes later, and he was gone. I yelled to my husband, thinking he had moved it. Another man said a lady had just driven up and put it into her truck.
I can't say all the mean and nasty things I want.
