A recent letter-writer cited various biblical passages purportedly stating that homosexuality is a sin. Only one explicitly mentioned homosexuality. This writer read into the other passages something that was not there. One citation, from I Corinthians, contained the word "homosexuals." This passage also referred to drunkards, thieves, and the greedy. Would the letter-writer consider these folks also not worthy of God's Kingdom?
From my reading of the Bible, I have some questions:
The book of Exodus suggests I may sell my daughter. What is the current price for a daughter?
In Leviticus it is stressed that during menstruation a man should have no contact with a woman. What is the appropriate way for a man to ask a woman if she is having her period?
Back to Exodus: It states that anyone who works on the Sabbath be put to death. My neighbor does. If I kill him, do I need to first secure the permission of the police?

And back to Leviticus: It has a passage that asserts I cannot trim my beard. I do this on a regular basis. Does this mean I am a sinner and will not inherit God's kingdom?
I look forward to answers.
