Does anyone recall the Duke University lacrosse case? The lives of three young men were severely damaged by an allegation of gang rape that was untrue. These boys were ruled innocent in what the North Carolina attorney general called a "tragic rush to accuse" by the media and others.

This case had every component the left-wing media could use to pull at the heartstrings of America. A minority woman as the supposed victim and a group of rich, privileged white males as the alleged oppressors. To say these wrongfully accused young men were not treated fairly by a very biased media is an understatement.

We are seeing a similar situation play out today with the Supreme Court confirmation process involving Brett Kavanaugh. A very biased news media, the News Tribune included, print articles daily that seem meant to tug at the heartstrings of America and invoke the conclusion that Kavanaugh's accuser is to be believed - and Kavanaugh is not. This despite not a shred of corroborating evidence and all witnesses mentioned writing (under penalty of perjury) they recalled no such event.

Furthermore, Democrat politicians already have rendered conclusions that Kavanaugh is not to be believed and to be judged guilty until "proven" innocent. This is not how our system of justice is supposed to play out.

I believe strongly that anyone alleging sexual assault should be treated fairly. But I also believe that anyone accused of such a crime should be treated fairly as well while the fact finding process plays out. This is not happening in this case.
