Jennifer Schultz is someone who has had to deal with life’s challenges. She grew up in a firefighter’s home. When her dad died, her mom and sister brought her up. In high school she worked in a restaurant and a grocery store. She paid for college with student loans, grants, scholarships and part-time jobs. Still, she excelled.
Schultz is smart and capable. She has functioned well in institutional politics at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she teaches. She’s active in her union and the area labor body. She knows health care economics inside and out. She can help make MNsure work for all.
The Minnesota Legislature is full of lawyers, medical professionals, teachers and business people. There’s not a single economist among them. There’s nobody who’s skilled at seeing how the pieces fit together. When they need to see the implications of this or that tax, an infrastructure project or regulation of private enterprise for the creation of jobs, including mining, Schultz will be the one with answers.
Her opponent in the Minnesota House District 7A race offers nothing comparable.
Minnesota needs Jennifer Schultz in the Legislature. Voters in 7A have the privilege of voting to send her there.
