60 years next month. Each of his married brothers and sisters have long-term, happy marriages. None of us has experienced divorce.

John also has two brothers who happen to be gay. Just as I married my best friend, they can say they are in long-term relationships with their best friends, one of them for 20 years. I see how good they are together and how much they love each other, and I wonder why some people object to the idea of marriage for same-sex couples. You don't choose who you love; it just happens. John's brothers are in relationships as strong as any marriage. They are committed to each other through thick and thin. Society benefits when families of all kinds are recognized and supported.

My Christian faith supports and welcomes all people, and my pastor's religious freedom should not be limited by putting another religious faith's definition of marriage into our Constitution.

I am voting "no" on the marriage amendment because love is love!
