I support U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar. He's a good friend to the Northland and has worked hard to help all of us. His challenger, Chip Cravaack, doesn't seem to want to help those in need with federal health insurance. Will Republicans give up government health insurance plans and Cravaack his present government health insurance plan?
Republicans seem to want to do away with the Environmental Protection Agency so we can have more water and air pollution and more oil spills like the one in the Gulf of Mexico. Yes, there is global warming! I believe in the word of scientists, not political wannabes.
Republicans also seem to want Social Security to change to the stock market so we can all lose.
Under the Bush administration, the Republicans started two wars. Can we expect a third or fourth war? We are going broke trying to pay for just two wars.
For all those who had or have jobs under the stimulus, it's working fine. The federal government went in the hole under the Republicans and President George W. Bush; some seem to forget that part of the present debt.
