There seems to be a trend lately to send rude opinion letters to the News Tribune that demonize U.S. Rep.-elect Chip Cravaack before he has cast a single vote in Congress. This sort of sour-grapes attitude will not help Minnesotans in the 8th District, nor will it make progressives (socialists) look any brighter.

Cravaack won the election because he actually lives in the district he will represent. Rather than simply sitting at the trough of government, the

Congressman-elect, I believe, intends to bring the people's case to Washington. His true strength is that he is one of us, the men and women who work mightily for a better future. I personally find it refreshing to have a man representing me who is actually willing to meet with residents and, shockingly, listen.

The left, at this point, seems to be having a full-blown temper tantrum of enormous proportions, all aimed at a great man with a vision for Minnesota. I would say, "Shame on you," but shame is something progressives lost long ago.
