Minnesota has responded to the judicial activism in other states and now has a decision to make this November in regard to governmental marriage.

Mostly through tax incentives, state governments throughout the country have in general chosen to uphold the traditional definition of marriage. Why? The reasons are twofold: One, traditional marriage more often than not results in procreation, and, two, there is consensus in the family-psychology profession that it is the optimal structure in which to raise a child. To define marriage any other way denies a child her rights and best interests to a mother and father.

To ensure marriage will be centered on children, and also to ensure our own judges don't make the decision for us, Minnesotans should vote "yes" to the marriage amendment on Nov. 6.
