In the register of deeds race for the Douglas County Democratic Party primary on Aug. 14, I recommend the News Tribune's union readership support a union candidate: Mike Kapalin.
Kapalin is employed at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the facilities management department. He is a member of WSEU Council 24, Local 42. I've known him on the job for several years as a person dedicated to improving the workplace, and I've stood beside him at rallies in the Northland to demonstrate and fight for union rights.
I urge voters in Douglas County to make the right choice, a pro-union choice, by voting for Mike Kapalin for Douglas County register of deeds on Aug. 14.
