I see Minnesota's DFL House committee legislators, in their infinite wisdom, voted against having citizens furnish photo ID at the polls.
Since when is this privilege of citizenship supposed to be so easy? For the vast majority of us, the benefits are there for the taking with not a lot of effort on our part. Now we are being told, in the midst of a U.S. Senate election mess, it could possibly disenfranchise voters to supply a card needed for pretty much everything else in life.
I, for one, am tired of the continued erosion of our citizenship for the sake of political power. Let's require a little effort from our citizens. Perhaps it will result in more knowledge and better candidates.
