A friend told me that some countries have a "disease" called Virgin's Revenge. It comes from a lifetime of eating not fully cooked rice and not bothering to add herbs.
In that same spirit, Americans could be said to have a “disease” called Animal's Revenge from lifetimes of animal-centered diets turning the body’s internal environment acidic on the pH scale. This, in turn, may be facilitating many of the maladies we have come to associate with age.
I wish baby boomers could be tested and helped through food to bring their pH into the optimal range.
Seventh Day Adventists, who are largely vegetarian, have for years tested as among the healthiest people in America. They're the only Americans who made it into the book, "The Blue Zone," a study of the healthiest and longest-living people on earth.
I understand the usefulness of pH is controversial among health care philosophies and providers. Since it's so inexpensive to test and could possibly be of much value, I hope it will get more coverage in the health care dialogue.
