I'm a Navy veteran who served on board the aircraft carrier USS Ranger from 1986 to 1990. I did two tours in the Persian Gulf region and had no family or friends waiting for me at the pier when I got home. When strangers come up to me now and say, "Thank you for your service," it means the world to me; and I appreciate it with all my heart.
