It's about time the folks of the 8th Congressional District got excited about something besides potholes. From what I gathered from televised accounts and from the News Tribune's coverage, the most boorish behavior at the Oct. 19 candidate forum came from our current representative, Jim Oberstar.

Oberstar turned his back on the pro-life movement when he voted for President Barack Obama's health-care bill after pledging he wouldn't vote for a bill without the pro-life House abortion language.

We have every reason to be outraged and maybe even boorish when Oberstar's actions may result the death of countless unborn Minnesota citizens.

It's time for change, and Chip Cravaack is the man who can make it happen.
