Those crying over the demise of U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar -- "Smiling Jim," as I've heard him called -- need to realize the election is over. Live with it.

hasn't been seated yet, but some seem to think they know already what he is going to do and not going to do. If they are so good at forecasting, why didn't they warn Oberstar before the election?
I'm neither Republican nor Democrat, and I have voted for Ralph Nadar, Jesse Ventura and a lot of other third-party candidates because the two main parties just don't get it, which is something worth looking at.
Rather than crying and hoping the outcome of Nov. 2 will change, live with it and remember another election is only two years away. And until then, stock up on Kleenex.
