Reader's view: Obama pursuing European-style government

As our citizenry draws closer to what has been labeled the most important election in our nation's history, we need to consider seriously what is at stake.

There is a big difference between serving and being served. We already know what un-American President Obama wants and expects: being well-served by his self-centered administration.

Avoidance of congressional approval by executive order is an Obama political weapon. An array of regulations bypassing Congress is stifling the real economic growth that can come only from the private, tax-paying sector. Add executive orders to actions taken by his huge staff of czars, advisors and regulators.

Admittedly, Obama has pursued his version of governing as proper to achieve his aim of socialism/communism/fascism in American life. Yes, it embraces much of what is happening in Washington, D.C.

The antidote: more private enterprise and job production and less opposition from the White House.

There seems a desire along with Obama's admiration for

European-style government involvement in virtually every facet of life (cradle-to-grave) for citizens young and old. Greece already knows the cost of a bankrupting entitlement society.

There is coming indeed a historic election.
