DFL-endorsed candidate Rick Nolan is running against Tea Party-backed 8th Congressional District Rep. Chip Cravaack. Unfortunately, he's also running against two otherwise good DFLers who decided to buck the decision at the state DFL Convention in June, which chose Nolan as the party's candidate.
The decisions by these candidates mean DFL campaign money will be spent on Tuesday's primary election rather than saved for the general-election campaign.
It's about jobs, isn't it? Basically, we have the two-year congressional record of one-term Cravaack, who campaigns for jobs while squandering his first term at taxpayer expense by participating in his Republican Tea Party's congressional strategy of do-nothing obstructionism. Who gets rewarded for being lazy on the job?
Nolan actually started a successful small business in Minnesota, which demonstrates his understanding and record of what it takes to create jobs rather than just spouting campaign rhetoric about it. Nolan also believes in protecting and strengthening Medicare and Social Security, as opposed to privatizing and raiding these taxpayer-earned benefits, as could be done under the Republican budget plan presented by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.
Vote for DFLer Rick Nolan on Tuesday.
