Reader's view: No prosperity as long as Republicans in power

There is a cancer growing on the American people. This cancer is misinformation about what the American government needs to do to fix the economy and to get the country back on its feet.

There is a cancer growing on the American people. This cancer is misinformation about what the American government needs to do to fix the economy and to get the country back on its feet.

The GOP has shown time after time since President Reagan was in office that its agenda is not to create the best possible lifestyle for all Americans, but for just the wealthy corporate executives who fund Republican campaigns. The Republicans spread lies that the wealthiest among us create our jobs and always have our best interests in mind. However, history has shown that when a strong middle class exists and the wealthy contribute to help pull the poor out of poverty, everybody prospers.

I hope this November the American public looks past the talking points and media bias to do the best thing for this country by voting Republicans out of office and by voting Democrats back in. Not until this happens will we have a prosperous and productive America.
