Reader's view: News Tribune is filled with quirks and oddities

Whoever wrote the caption for the picture of Duluth police officers Daryl Diver and David Hnatek in the Feb. 27 News Tribune was never in the military. Standing at attention does not mean thumbs in your pocket or hands crossed in front.

Whoever wrote the caption for the picture of Duluth police officers Daryl Diver and David Hnatek in the Feb. 27 News Tribune was never in the military. Standing at attention does not mean thumbs in your pocket or hands crossed in front.

I find these quirks or oddities in the paper all the time.

Another example: "Snowmobiler killed by train identified," was a headline on Feb. 18. The story concluded with the fact that the man "was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash." Really?! It was a train!
