In the past I have voiced my opinion that the News Tribune is turning into a right-wing newspaper. I further cite the Dec. 9 train-bashing Local View ("Europe can keep fast trains, and we can keep our pickups") by another so-called Republican expert. The writer didn't seem to have a clue about Europe. We have another Conestoga wagon driver with a view that's outdated and basically illiterate. Europe is extraordinary with its transportation systems. I wish our really horribly bad transportation system was half as good as Europe's. But it's better to be fishing, the commentary suggested.
I further cite as evidence of a right-wing slant the Dec. 3 State View by Andrea Walsh of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce ("Minnesota's businesses will advocate for jobs") and the two conservative Sunday columnists from the Washington Post.
I realize we the people are going to be relegated to the bleachers. Opinions only, please. Blue meat to the back of the bus!
I wish I was filthy rich. I would start a new newspaper in Duluth tomorrow morning to bring some balance to today's topics and politics.
