The other day someone was complaining about food. I felt like saying, “How would you like to be a refugee and your only option was to eat grass?”
We Americans are so blessed. Most of us have places to put our heads and three meals a day.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we must never forget what the Native Americans did for the settlers. They taught them how to farm the land, snowshoe and how to live in what was then a rugged land.
The Native Americans deserve respect. They didn’t overuse the land, and they kept the water pristine. The great Gitchee Gummee today is full of plastic, mercury, make-up particles, antibacterial soap residue and a myriad of other things.
The Native Americans are the true conservationists, and we should learn from them.
