Do Superintendent Bill Gronseth and School Board members think everyone in Independent School District 709 is that dumb? The majority of people know the reason for postponing a referendum is that the Nov. 6 election is a national election ("School chief to public: We need to talk," Aug. 14).
School district officials will wait for a local election when the turnout will be small so they can get their special interest groups involved, like the teachers union. No matter how they spin it, most of the money, I believe, goes for raises.
