Proposals described in the Feb. 17 article, âRoad reconstruction may lead to changes at Duluth park,â should be carefully thought out. Even though I am all for parks and green spaces, I donât believe it is the right choice to spend additional taxpayersâ money here. This intersection absorbs a lot of traffic, and more should be done to keep the traffic flowing rather than slow it down to avoid congestion.
In addition, because of the numerous rentals in this area due to landlords remodeling homes into multi-unit dwellings, parking is at a premium. The removal of 20th Avenue East for parking and replacing it with a park would result in the loss of six parking spots in an already crowded area.
Itâs easy to make decisions when it does not adversely affect your way of life.
