As President Eisenhower warned us long ago, we need to protect ourselves against the power of the military-industrial complex. We didn't listen and now unnecessary and immoral wars might well bankrupt us and the production and consumption of domestic goods is dangerously fouling the environment.
Who is to blame? All of us -- Congress and the presidency for starting and funding wars and the people for our part in the political process as well as for our lavish, throw-away consuming.
For the children, for the well-being of future generations, we must use less, fight less and think more. Let's get started.
