Reader's view: Man-made climate change a matter of speculation

Not nearly so impressive or consequential are theories masquerading as science.

Scientists agree human activity is not the sole determinant of climate variation. So, what is the impact of human activity on climate? None? A little? A lot? Since it is scientifically impossible to isolate the portion of climate variation connected to human activity, it is also impossible to establish a correlation between the two, even supposing that human activity that might influence climate could be accurately measured, which is questionable. Even if correlation could be established, it is scientifically impossible to establish causation. Therefore, man-made climate change theory is a matter of speculation.

Is it wise to reorder our lives in significant ways based on speculation?

More baffling than the angst over climate is the general lack of concern over one's eternal destiny. The holy Bible describes our earthly lives as like "a vapor that appears but for a short time, then vanishes." That is not speculation but certainty. We are born condemned, sinners by nature and by choice. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, provided a way out of our condemnation. Out of love He died in our place, making total payment for our sins. God only asks that we believe it.

Salvation is 100 percent a gift and 0 percent a reward for performance. The very moment you accept the gift by placing your faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, you pass from eternal condemnation to eternal life and will not see condemnation. This is rightfully called "good news" in the Bible.
